Kate Moss will receive a special recognition award at the 2013 British Fashion Awards, in honour of her 25-year-long career and continued influence in the industry. She will be presented with her accolade during the awards ceremony on Monday 2 December in London.

The supermodel was discovered by Storm Model Management founder Sarah Doukas in 1988 and has since gone on to become one of the most famous models in the world – having worked with the world’s leading designers, photographers and artists.

She joins fashion journalist and critic Suzy Menkes in receiving a special recognition accolade at this year’s British Fashion Awards, which this year will be held at the London Coliseum and presented by David Walliams.

Moss had previously been awarded Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 2001 and 2006, while in 2009 was the first person to receive a British Fashion Award decided by public vote.
