GIVE ME FIVE: Long a misnomer, couture week in Paris will actually stretch over a full five days come July. The week’s organizing body, the Chambre Syndicale, is now listing 10 specialty ateliers on the official calendar. By-appointment visits to workshops are scheduled for July 4 and 5, following three days of runway shows by the likes of Chanel, Dior, Valentino and Jean Paul Gaultier. Participants for the inaugural session are embroiderers Lesage and Montex, shoemaker Massaro, leather finisher Idées de Marc, silk finisher Holding Textile Hermès, glove maker Causse, milliner Maison Michel, goldsmith Goossens, feather house Lemarié and saddler Maïté Wustner. High jewelry presentations have been a feature on the couture calendar since 2010, with Roman house Bulgari new to next month’s schedule.
