Monegasque royal Charlotte Casiraghi has been named as the face of a yet-to-be-launched Gucci cosmetics line.
Already the face of Gucci Forever Now ad campaign (which celebrated the brand’s most iconic design signatures, such as the horsebit and Flora pattern) Casiraghi is a long-time friend of Gucci as its official equestrian ambassador; she said, “I have really enjoyed my relationship with Frida [Giannini] over these last four years, and I am now excited to work with her again on this signature product.”
Although the new cosmetics collection won’t be available until September, rumours have it that the range will consist of eye, face, lip, nail and skin products, and will be produced with P&G Prestige, the company behind key fragrances such as Gucci Guilty and Gucci Première. Pat McGrath is creative design director of P&G’s beauty division, and is currently the make-up artist responsible for the make-up looks at Gucci’s ready-to-wear shows.
Charlotte Casiraghi for Gucci Forever Now Spring 2013
Gucci creative director Frida Giannini is clearly thrilled to have Charlotte on board for another foray into the world of Gucci beauty, describing her as a “striking beauty” and saying, “Charlotte was a natural choice as she embodies the modern iconic Gucci woman.”
The new mother – she gave birth son Raphaël in December 2013 – will front the beauty collection with a campaign shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and a fashion film directed by Fabien Baron.
