French heritage brand Dior reveal Johnny Depp as the new face of Christian Dior Parfums. According to the French fashion label, it marks the first time the actor will front a fragrance. Depp will star in a new small screen campaign for the luxury French fashion house, lending his rugged good looks and worldwide fame for a new men’s scent created by François Demachy, the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton-owned house’s perfume creator.

Dior is in the habit of nabbing all the most handsome men for their male fragrance campaigns: earlier this year they used Alain Delon in a campaign for its classic Eau Sauvage scent (the film clip, from Robert Enrico’s Les Aventuriers movie, was made in 1966, the year Eau Sauvage first launched), plus over the last few years a suave Jude Law for Dior Homme Sport and Dior Homme Intense and a brooding Robert Pattinson for Dior Homme, have been equally easy on the eye…
