It’s that time of year again: it’s day one of New York Fashion Week NYFW. Check out the prettiest moments from Day 1 below!
It’s always a great way to open day one of #NYFW with an uber cool show as Nicholas K did: models donned low-cut pants that were slung below the hipbone and wore the fuzzy headpieces with deeply cut blouses, which somehow made me feel both warm and freezing at the same time.. It was a mix of grungey ’90s neutrals, winter whites, and layers. P-E-R-F-E-C-T.
BCBG Max Azria was one of our favorite shows of the first day. Layers, long lengths and fur were the three key elements of the show. “It’s all about length and geometrics and colors” as Azria observed before the show. So glamorous.
Richard Chai took a cue from menswear fashion for his collection, with unisex-esque suiting and a deep, dark color palette. The designer also favored oversized, almost bulky silhouettes and dizzying prints were also all over the runway—whether on pinstripe pants or long maxi skirts.
Stuart Vevers showed his debut collection for Coach which was a shearling-and-knit accessory heaven with its cabin chic aesthetic. An orange and black baseball jacket, countless amazing skirts, and an oversized shearling coat that I wanted to rip off the model were some of my personal favorites. I also couldn’t take my eyes off the bags: you’ll want to scoop up one of these ones for fall, no question.
